World-renowned Metropolitan Opera star and Barrington resident, baritone William Powers, along with guest artist Aaron Wardell of Chicago, Elgin Opera's Performing and Training Ensembles, and students from Elgin's Channing Elementary School will perform in Elgin Opera's upcoming "April in Austria." A celebration of Austrian music, the show will feature highlights from beloved Viennese operettas: Die Zauberflote (Magic Flute) by Mozart, Die Fledermaus (The Bat) by Strauss, The Merry Widow by Lehar, as well as excerpts from The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
