Nobody is a rookie at Rookies (sorry). This place is a must-see for those looking to expand their horizons and enjoy quality sporting events. The bar features nearly 25 televisions all tuned to sports, making it possible to see the game around even the largest head. Just as importantly, there is ample parking all the way around, even when it’s at full capacity. Which, in our case, is very often. The bar is located dead center and offers a good selection of beers that is sure to please everyone. And make note of the Mai Tais they serve up, they’re up there with the best of all time. And the Bocas love Mai Tais. Rookies also offers outdoor seating to allow patrons to escape the noise inside. Not to say the noise is bothersome, but if your team is losing and the house is cheering, best to be able to escape a moment and clear your head. Food at sports bars is notoriously bad, but rookies is a pleasant exception. They offer dollar burgers (that's one Washington), free all-you-can-eat popcorn and a load of other great daily specials. The crowd is mixed, and just about any age group fits in nicely. The service is efficient and friendly, a must if you are watching a nail-biter and need a beer fast. Rookies has karaoke on Thursdays, live DJs every Friday, and live bands every Saturday. Rookies is located at 2486 Bushwood Dr. (just off Randall Road).
