Provocateur…Debauchery…Erotic Art…Where, oh where is this BocaJump going?! Why, it’s going to the Martini Room to give you some inside scoop on their upcoming Provocateur Party which is this Saturday, October 1st beginning at 9pm! If you have not heard, Martini Room, located at 161 E. Chicago Street, Elgin, IL, is having a party that is going to be one of larger-than-life proportions! The inspiration behind this celebration is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta…also known to the world as, “Lady Gaga”!
This is somewhat how the story goes. Over at Martini Room they got on the subject of Lady Gaga. Whether one likes the Lady Gaga character or not, I hope it can be recognized that she is an incredible musician, song-writer and singer. She also knows how to market herself on being unique (i.e. meat dress – that’s a bunch of bologna. Sorry had to do it!) Thus, they got to thinking, wouldn’t it be interesting and fun to have a Lady Gaga tribute party of sorts, and from these thoughts came the inspiration for The Provocateur Party!
Lady Gaga is known for her music as well as her fashion statements therefore Martini Room added a “Gaga Allure Contest – A Creative Costume Contest” to the party. You have the opportunity to create your own over-the-top fashion statement, and there are prizes for the winner! If you don’t want to create your own costume or you want to get those creative juices flowing for your design efforts, take a visit to Fantasy Festival Costume Store in Algonquin. They are working with Martini Room and carry everything you’ll need for your transformation!
Provocateur has the Creative Costume Contest, but there is more. In Martini Room’s own words, the party “is a week’s worth of entertainment rolled into one spectacular evening!....Be prepared for an evening unlike any other you have seen in Chicagoland!”
You’ll be introduced to Lady “B”, the MC for the evening, who will keep things moving and shaking. In addition, Lady “B” will perform Liza Minnelli’s “New Your, New York” act. And what could be better than a strolling magician plus a mingling and mixing 7-foot tall Lady Gaga? Plus, local artist, Chris Helton (whose work can be seen in Martini Room) will be capturing the mood and energy of the Provocateur Party through his art right at the event. I wonder what the masterpiece will be! In addition, there will be special dance performances and more provocative and tantalizing acts!
Oh yea, and there will be martini’s and more! You can be a true celebrity and demand the The Pop Star Martini which is made with Champagne and garnished with star fruit, The Poker Face - a mixed tall drink, or a Shot-a-razzi, just to name a few, however, while you are demanding that beverage, don’t forget to tip your bartenders and waitresses (I always wanted to say that!)
This party will be like the artist herself…conceptual, clever, creative, flamboyant, fabulous and funky! Throw in a bit of sexy and wickedness and you have the makings for a really attention-grabbing Gaga-esque time!
