‘Toy Story 3’ and ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ are this week’s flicks
The city of Elgin will be present Toy Story 3 on Thursday, Aug. 11, and Raiders of the Lost Ark on Saturday, Aug. 13, as part of the Classic Movie in the Park Series.
Toy Story 3 will begin about sunset at Festival Park on Thursday, Aug. 11. The film is the third in the Pixar Animation Studios/Walt Disney Pictures Toy Story franchise, featuring the vocal talents of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Don Rickles.
Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring Harrison Ford, is set to show Saturday, Aug. 13, at College Green Park, along College Green Drive between Randall Road and McLean Boulevard.
For the Raiders showing, College Green neighbors are encouraged to bring a blanket or folding chairs, and enjoy this classic movie with your family and friends. Children’s activities are planned beginning at 7 p.m., themed to the featured movie. College Green Townhome Association will be selling popcorn and other treats. The movie begins at sunset.
The Classic Movies in the Park series concludes Sept. 10 with a showing of The Rookie at Summerhill Park.
