Grant applications are available for Elgin-based social service agencies to apply for funding through the 2012 Elgin Riverboat Grant program. This grant program is open to all 501c3 not-for-profit organizations that provide services to residents of Elgin.

During the 2012 city of Elgin budget process, the Elgin City Council set aside $250,000 in the Riverboat Fund to establish this new grant program, making it available to all local social service agencies through a competitive annual grant process.

The grant application deadline is March 30. Completed applications should be returned to the city of Elgin, 150 Dexter Court, attention Cherie Murphy, assistant to the city manager for community engagement.

Complete instructions and application are available on the “quick link” section of the city website at www.cityofelgin.org  or can be obtained by calling the city at 1-847-931-5667.
