The Elgin Police Department will be conducting a joint roadside safety check with the Illinois State Police in the upcoming St Patrick’s Day weekend which is from Friday, March 16, to Sunday, March 18.

The focus of the roadside check is to remove intoxicated motorists from the roadway and to ensure vehicle occupants are using their seat belts. The Elgin police and Illinois State Police want to remind everyone to wear their seat belts and to not drink and drive.

Any questions can be directed to Elgin police Traffic Cmdr. Sgt Al Young at 1-847-289-2661.
