The Elgin Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding Salvador Sarabia who is wanted in connection to a June 27 residential burglary.

That burglary occurred in the 100 block of Neutrenton, Elgin, where a 13-year-old girl hiding in the basement called 911.

Sarabia, 28, of the 800 block of Ford Avenue, posted $10,000 bond for that crime and was released from the Cook County Jail. While Sarabia had an Immigration and Naturalization Service hold, but Cook County Jail policy does not honor such requests.  A warrant was issued for his arrest after he missed a Nov. 21 court date.

Sarabia is a child sex offender who has been deported to Mexico twice.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Elgin Police Department at 1-847-289-2500 or leave an anonymous tip at 1-847-695-4195.
